What we collect

When you request an estimate or book a consultation on this site, we collect what you give us: your name, phone number, email address, the project address, and the details of the project you describe. If you use the instant estimate tool, we also keep the fence line you draw and the measurements derived from it. If you attach a photo to a request, the website removes the location data a phone writes into it and sends it to us by email. The website itself does not keep the photo.

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses. Estimate records themselves do not store your IP address. They may carry a one-way fingerprint of it, which we use to limit abuse of the tool and cannot turn back into an address.

How we use it

We use this information to price your project, follow up with you about it, and schedule work you ask for. That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their marketing.

Who else touches it

A few service providers process data on our behalf, because the site could not work without them: our website host, the database service that stores estimate requests, our email provider (estimate copies and lead notifications travel by email), Google, whose mapping service turns the address you type into map coordinates and shows you the satellite image you draw on, and Cloudflare, whose spam check may process your IP address when it runs before you submit. Each handles that data under its own privacy policy.

If we enable visitor analytics, we use a service that counts visits without advertising cookies and without building profiles of individual visitors.

How long we keep it

Estimate and booking records are business records, and we keep them so that a future conversation about your project starts where the last one ended. Estimate records do not stay forever: we keep them for up to three years, then delete them.

Parts of an estimate record are removed sooner than that. The map coordinates of your address are removed after thirty days; the address you typed stays with the record. The drawing of your property and our internal pricing breakdown are removed after two years. If you want your information corrected or deleted sooner, ask, and we will do it.

Those timings are for the record in our database. The emails an estimate or booking produces, including any photos you attached to a request, also live in our company mailbox for as long as the conversation about your project does, and a short summary of each new lead (name, phone, town, the fence and the range) is sent to a private alert channel we use so that requests reach us on our phones. Ask, and we will remove those too.

Your choices

You can use most of this site without giving us anything. The estimate tools ask for contact information because an estimate we cannot follow up on does not help you. To ask what we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted, call 815-579-2323 or email contact@xceloutdoorliving.com.

Children

This site sells fencing and decking to homeowners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the date at the top moves. We will not quietly repurpose information collected under an older version of this policy.
