Chapter 149 of the village code opens its location section with a sentence most towns near here would never write: fences may be constructed to the property line. The village then says plainly what it will not do about that. Paw Paw is not responsible for lot lines related to fences, and where a line is in question, or a neighbor disputes it and the village official issuing the permit cannot get it settled, a survey may be required.
