Peru permits a fence repair, not just a new fence.
Peru's building department lists a fence permit among the eleven it issues, and its wording is broader than most people expect. Any repair, replacement or new residential work requires a permit. A rotten section swapped out on a Saturday is covered by that sentence as surely as a fence going in from scratch.
Peru also says how long it takes, which is more than most towns publish: permits generally take two weeks to review and process, longer if the plans come back for changes. Build that into your timeline rather than ours. The building and zoning office is at 1901 4th Street.
The approval stays in your name. We do not pull permits and we will not tell you we did. Once you have the green light, the build is ours: materials, scheduling, installation, and cleanup.
